Cash4Gold and MC Hammer launch Feed The Children’s Breakfast2Live campaign

SHEFFIELD, 9 December 2009: Leading mail-in gold buyer Cash4Gold and MC Hammer, three-time Grammy award winner, today announced the launch of Breakfast2Live, a Feed The Children (UK) campaign. The Breakfast2Live campaign calls on groups and individuals around the UK to hold breakfasts to raise money for the charity’s life-saving projects in developing countries and UK breakfast clubs.
Cash4Gold secured £10,000 for the charity by donating the money through the the Big Give website, whose sponsoring Reed Organisation matched pound-for-pound Cash4Gold’s pledge at the maximum contribution level of £5,000.

Brian Main, Charity Chief Executive of Feed The Children, said: “We thank Cash4Goldfor its extremely generous contribution and are deeply appreciative of the company’s—and MC Hammer’s—proven and long-standing commitment to the critical work that we do. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we are asking people to take time out for just one meal to think about the thousands of children who need our help in this country and abroad. In the week commencing Monday, February 22nd we’d like people to run or join a breakfast event that will raise money for Feed The Children (UK). ”

MC Hammer, three-time Grammy award-winner and celebrity endorser of Cash4Gold, said: “We’re delighted to support Feed the Children’s worthwhile campaign here in the UK. We want to help the campaign succeed in ensuring that more children around the world get the right they deserve – to eat breakfast. Cash4Gold and I have been involved in Feed the Children events for years, including distributing food to needy families and utilising social media to raise support for Feed The Children (US) following natural disasters in the Pacific and widespread flooding at home in Georgia.”

Jeff Aronson, CEO of Cash4Gold, said: “Cash4Gold has for a long time supported Feed The Children in the US and we’re pleased to be doing the same in the UK. We want to encourage as many people as possible to join us in supporting the vital work of this great organization. Hammer has five children and I have three, so helping kids is something very near and dear to our hearts. ”

Cash4Gold, the world’s #1 gold buyer direct from consumers, launched in the UK in July 2009 and chose Sheffield as its base due to its renowned industrial roots as the Steel City.

Feed The Children has a number of ideas of how people can raise money for Breakfast2Live:
• You can host a breakfast and invite friends (get items donated and then charge a small fee of say £5.00 per breakfast).
• Restaurants and cafes can donate a small percentage of the price of a special ‘Breakfast2Live’ on the menu to the charity, or have a collection tin on the day and ask for donations to the charity from everyone eating in the restaurant.
• If you have regular coffee mornings, get a batch of cakes or breakfast muffins donated or baked, invite your friends along and if everyone pays about £1.50 for a cup of tea or coffee and a muffin you can raise money that way.
