Jessica Chastain’s Oscar Style is Golden

Jessica Chastain, the talented actress who was up for an Oscar for her role in The Help, received extensive attention for her sartorial choice at the Academy Awards as she walked the runway in a black strapless Alexander McQueen gown accented with gold buillon and metallic thread. Chastain wore her hair less ornate, with the front pulled back and the rest grazing her back.

Reviews of the gown are mixed—while many praise the McQueen gown as a masterpiece, other draw comparisons to an oriental rug. What do you think?

Jennifer Lawrence Shines In Gold!

There has been much buzz about the new franchise Hunger Games coming to theaters soon and Jennifer Lawrence definitely made more buzz with her gold dress at the premiere. Jennifer wore an extravagant gold dress that would catch any eye and as the The Blemish said, could also make her look like the Oscar award herself. The Blemish went on to even mention yours truly by saying, "She must be hoping she can subliminally convince people to think “Academy Award” when they think of this movie. That or “how much money do you think Cash4Gold can melt her down for?”

The 4 Types of Gold You Can Sell

Not all things gold are meant to be sold. Fortunately, we have put together a guide to help you navigate selling your gold belongings and what goes into determining value for each. Here at Cash 4 Gold, we’ve been the leader in the industry for years. Some are obvious, like jewelry, while others can be less so, like your gold tooth.

Gold coins are highly prized by collectors. Once upon a time, kings and nobles traded and collected gold coins—that should give you an idea how prestigious they can be. Alas, the time may come where you need to redeem your gold coins for cash. When that time comes, be sure to sell with a reputable dealer and maximize your takeaway.

Second, gold bul. Similar to bullion, yet less majestic. Bullion is so extravagant, it’s normally found in its purest form—gold bars.

Third, scrap gold. This would be gold that has been extracted from a crown or filling, gold wiring, or damaged jewelry.

And lastly, the ever-popular gold jewelry. Get rid of that necklace your ex-boyfriend gave you and get cash! Let’s just hope his gift was gold, and not gold-plated.

Giant Nugget of California Gold is Actually Australian

Photo: Don Kagin holds a nugget said to be discovered in the backyard of a California Man. Photo from AP.

Back in March, Jim Sanders of Washington, California sold a 98.6oz nugget he found on his farm for $460,000, claiming that it was gold which was dug up on his California property. Sanders lives on ground that is historically linked to the California gold rush, so speculation quickly ensued that this piece was the biggest single piece obtained from the land. Its size also garnered a nickname—The Washington Nugget. Now, the gold has been tested and exposed as originating from Australia, not California.

The scam came to light when an Australian named Murray Cox saw the gold in a trade magazine. He recognized it as something he dug up over 20 years ago. He sold it to a buyer in Arizona for $50,000 in 1989.

The buyer who purchased the Australian gold in March has been refunded. Unfortunately, gold scams to all degrees are nothing new. Protect yourself and your assets by dealing with a licensed gold dealer to sell your goods. Trade your gold for cash with the professional gold assessment team at Cash 4 Gold.
