In Britian, a website called CatsforGold.com has picked up steam, as Brits are signing up in droves to trade their old gold for new cats. The site, a clear play on Cash4Gold, offers 100% Catisfaction with your trade.

The site works by weighing your gold, and then giving you a litter of cats depending on the value of your loot. Essentially, 1 gram of 10 karat cold will get you 1 small kitten, where 200g of 24 karat gold will get you 1 very big cat. So far, 2,085 people have filled out quotes on Cats4Gold.com.

According to Phil Williams of Cats4Gold.com, all of the cats hail from the finest breeders. The company seeks to provide the finest feline companions in exchange for unwanted gold.

Michael Phelps Takes the Gold...Again

In Shanghai, famed U.S. Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps is back, and he’s not settling for anything less than gold. While his laps aren’t as fast as he was at the 2008 Olympics, he is still the gold medal champion for the 200 meter butterfly. Despite his losses earlier this year, he just achieved his fifth-world title in the race.

After winning his first world championship ten years ago, he claimed the gold medal over close competitors Takeshi Matsuda (Japan) and Wu Peng (China). Phelps completed the race in 1 minute, 53.34 seconds.

The United States went through a sort of hysteria over Michael Phelps at the 2008 Olymics, when he racked up an impressive eight gold medals (in addition to six gold and two bronze in Athens in 2004), and we are all anxiously awaiting to see how he fares at what is said to be his last Olympics, the 2012 Summer Games in London.

Taylor Swift’s Purple & Gold Wonderstruck Perfume

Grammy winning country star Taylor Swift has partnered with Elizabeth Arden fragrances to create Wonderstruck, Ms. Swift’s signature scent, to be released this October. Swift tied the fragrance name to one of her singles, “Enchanted,” from her latest album, stating that “Enchanted is about the first time you meet someone. A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you.”

As romantic as Swift is, the perfume bottle is no exception. A deep purple bottle with regal gold accents such as a golden lid, the bottle takes on a lighthearted look that is reminiscent of Swift, with a delicate strand of charms around the top resembling a gold charm bracelet.

Japan Takes the Gold in Women’s World Cup

In an intense overtime match of the USA vs. Japan for the Women’s World Cup Finals, the Japanese managed to take the title due to more penalty kicks scored in overtime, beating out the US for the gold. Japan certainly proved their ability to understand their opponent as goalie Ayumi Kaihori blocked Shannon Boxx’s first attempt at a penalty kick—going for the same kick she aced against Brazil. Kaihori predicted this move and blocked her. Last night, the Japanese truly went the extra step to ensure they received the gold medal for their efforts.

While we were disappointed that the United States didn’t bring home the gold after such an impressive run, part of us is also poignant for Japan, who after enduring a trifecta of disasters (earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear meltdown) could definitely use some good news to take home to their country. Congrats on the gold, Japan.
