The New Gold Necklace

Ever since Swedish blogger, Elin Kling introduced thick metal chokers for her H&M collaboration, the trend has been popping up everywhere. Of course, retailers like Forever 21 followed in suit, creating the thick silver necklace for trend hungry girls everywhere. Now, several months later, the look has evolved into a chic and glam choker that has become the new gold necklace for women of all ages.

On the runways this fall, we saw chokers on several runways such as Charlotte Ronson, Donna Karan, and the golden version at Elie Tahari. Paired with slick neutrals and minimal hair and makeup, the look is right on target. Want to work the trend but stay dressed down? Make like Beyonce and pair a gold bauble with a white tee shirt.

Diane Kruger Shines InStyle

InStyle magazine has taken a turn for the golden by placing blonde bombshell Diane Kruger on their October magazine cover. Kruger is decked out in a long sleeved gown covered in gold sequins, perfectly complementary to the sequined background of the magazine header as well. Appropriately, the magazine touts “69 Glam Buys” as a peek into what’s inside.

Take a cue from Kruger and remember that when your outfit is flashy, there’s little need to adorn beyond that. A gold dress with gold jewelry would be tacky! With a shade as flashy as gold, it’s important to keep it all under control. Also on the cover? “Poker straight hair is back.” Channel your inner 70s goddess and let your Cher-straight hair and sequin gown speak volumes.

Celebrities Lead the Way with Gold Accessories

The nude and muted shades of spring are officially gone—and as fashion week has taught us, it is now time for the dramatic rich metallic hues. Swap your peach pumps for gilded golden stilettos, and you’ll be right on trend. Celebrities like Beyonce, Scarlett Johannsen and Fergie have boldly stepped out with gold accents on the red carpet and dressed down—at the airport even!

Gold shoes and handbags are all over the runways, and though these are spring collections, we all know the most stylish of vixens will be flaunting gold in the fall months. An easy way for those wary of flashy trends to incorporate the shiny metal into their wardrobe is with gold jewelry. Necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets—even gold brooches! The 4 Types of Gold You Can Sell

Not all things gold are meant to be sold. Fortunately, we have put together a guide to help you navigate selling your gold belongings and what goes into determining value for each. Here at Cash 4 Gold, we’ve been the leader in the industry for years. Some are obvious, like jewelry, while others can be less so, like your gold tooth.

Gold coins are highly prized by collectors. Once upon a time, kings and nobles traded and collected gold coins—that should give you an idea how prestigious they can be. Alas, the time may come where you need to redeem your gold coins for cash. When that time comes, be sure to sell with a reputable dealer and maximize your takeaway.

Second, gold bul. Similar to bullion, yet less majestic. Bullion is so extravagant, it’s normally found in its purest form—gold bars.

Third, scrap gold. This would be gold that has been extracted from a crown or filling, gold wiring, or damaged jewelry.

And lastly, the ever-popular gold jewelry. Get rid of that necklace your ex-boyfriend gave you and get cash! Let’s just hope his gift was gold, and not gold-plated.

A Heart of Gold Isn’t Just an Expression Anymore

Scientists at MIT and Harvard have discovered tissue building gold studs that create a synchronized heart beat for survivors of heart attacks. The scaffolds made of gold are intertwined with the tissue cells and stimulate the growth of cardiac cells.

Alginate is fused with the gold nanowires and they act as superb conductors for the heart. When compared to natural cell growth, the gold fused cells grew thicker and straighter. With electricity, they all pulsed in unity.

Now, one day you may sell your gold necklace—but we’re pretty confident the gold in your heart is there to stay.
