Gray “The Bully” Maynard lived up to his nickname on Wednesday night as he controlled a tough match with lightweight division (155-pound) foe Roger “El Matador” Huerta. The highly-anticipated match lived up to the hype as the two fighters went toe-to-toe for three rounds in the Octagon.
Maynard displayed great skill and intensity, as well as top-notch striking in winning the co-main event before a lively crowd at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City. This win extends his unbeaten streak to nine and puts the former All-American wrestler near the top of the lightweight division as a title contender.
Before Wednesday’s fight, Cash4Gold entered into a three-fight sponsorship with Maynard (announcement). In addition to the new deal with Maynard, the company’s MMA sponsorship roster also includes elite fighters Randy “The Natural” Couture and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos.
